Dan and Ros Stark: Creating Crossword Puzzles for Papers All Across America
Last November I was sitting at the Lake Chapala Society sipping coffee and
saying to some buddies that I was headed back to Ohio for a week. The
tall man with a bushy beard and intelligent eyes who was at our table
that day said, "Where in Ohio?"
I said, "Ashland, my home town."
His eyes lit up as he told me Ashland was also his hometown. When I told
him I graduated in 1960, he said he graduated in 1962. I told him that
was the year my sister, Nancy, graduated, and he said he remembered Nancy.
I called Nancy that night and told her I'd just met her old classmate
Dan Stark down here in central Mexico. Due to her chores of tracking down
classmates for the 45th anniversary to be held in Ashland this month,
she was really excited. Dan has never made it back to a class reunion,
but he's headed to Ohio for this one.
