What is type 100 coaxial cable?
1mm Coax Cable – 100 Type Cable This is the cable that most equipment is designed to take, so for connections into TV wall plates, LNB’s and aerials will almost always have 100 type coax cable in mind.
What is the standard coaxial cable size?
Coaxial Cable Sizes
Coaxial cable type | Outside diameter | Outside diameter |
---|---|---|
RG-6 | 6.90mm | 0.275″ |
RG-62 | 6.15mm | 0.242″ |
RG-11 | 10.30mm | 0.405″ |
RG-12 | 14.10mm | 0.555″ |
Is CT100 the same as WF100?
WF100 has a foam inner insulation whereas CT100 has airspaced inner insulation. If water gets into CT100 it runs into the insulation and the cable can fill with water. WF100 won’t do that, and is also slightly more resistant to kinking. Both are good with good workmanship.
Do all coaxial cables work for Internet?
All your coax will tie into it. With a multi-port setup they probably have a serial splitter. They should have labels saying things like -3.5dB . Your room might be connected to one that says something like -7dB .
Why are coaxial cables so stiff?
The nature of Coaxial cables is that they are all stiff. The intention is to maintain the spacing between the core and the screen so the permeability stays the the same. This means the geometry of a cable should stay the same along it’s entire length. Those that flex or have been bent are now no longer perfect.
Are some coaxial cables better than others?
Most coaxial cables include both (although some RG 59 cables still use single shielding). In general, the more shielding you have, the better your cable will perform, especially in longer runs, but there are differences in what the shields protect.
What’s better CT100 or RG6?
The real difference is the loss, RG6 has solid polythene insulation, whereas CT100 is semi air spaced and larger diameter. The UHF loss is significantly less (about half as much). Use CT100 for aerial signals and it good for distribution too and fits F connectors properly.
Can you use satellite cable instead of coax?
Yes. Satellite TV and aerials use the same coaxial cable. You can use a satellite cable with a TV aerial but you may need to change the connector to an F-Type that’s compatible with TVs, top boxes, and other devices.
Is RG6 or RG11 better?
RG6 has higher attenuation level; RG11 has lower attenuation level. RG6 can transmit signals in a higher frequency range than RG6. Because RG11 has lower attenuation level, it can transmit in a father distance: RG6 can transmit signal in a distance of 600m, RG11 can transmit in a distance of 1,100m.
