Why does my Silverado shake at idle?
One of the most likely causes of a car shaking while it is idle is dirty or worn out spark plugs. It causes noticeable engine shaking which in turn causes the whole vehicle to vibrate. Luckily, dirty or broken spark plugs are easy to fix as replacing them is inexpensive and can be easily done by even a novice.

I’ve had a slight rough idle since around 500 miles driving the truck with it progressively getting worse over time. Had the BB Tune bump the idle up to 600 at 1000 miles and that seemed to eliminate it for the time being.
Is it normal for a Sierra 5.3 to idle?
My sierra 5.3 with about 900 miles has started to intermittently idle pretty rough especially after it has reach operating temperature. I went to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong. They said it is normal. I don’t believe it.
