Is Pantene still accepting hair donations?

Hair donations will no longer be accepted after December 31, 2018. Through the passion and generosity of donors all over the US and Canada, we are pleased to share that we are able and committed to meet the future real-hair wig needs of the American and Canadian Cancer Societies for the next four years.

How long does hair have to be to donate Pantene?

8 inches
Measure the length of the ponytail from the elastic band to the tips, making sure it’s at least 8 inches long. Donations shorter than 8 inches will not be used, because this is too short for making a wig. If your hair is not 8 inches, continue growing it out.

How do I section my hair for donations?

The Hair Donating Process

  1. Hair must be clean and dry.
  2. Tie hair into at least four sections (six are even better) around the head for a more generous donation.
  3. Make sure each ponytail or braid is tightly secured.
  4. Cut hair above the rubber band.
  5. Wrap all ponytails in one piece of tissue paper and seal in a plastic bag.

Can I donate 8 inches of hair?

Donated hair must be a minimum of 8 inches long (measured from just above the elastic band of the ponytail to the ends).

Locks of Love and Pink Heart Funds both take hair colored or grey but not over-processed or bleached hair over 10 inches. Can you donate 6 inches hair to Locks of Love?
